One of the features of any country is the age of majority of its citizens, which can significantly differ from the age of onset of sexual activity among young people. Sex is substantially rejuvenated. 

First of all, in the sense that boys and girls get their first intimate experience before the moment when they have the right to decide something. Mostly , sex is still in adolescence. 

But not everything is as simple as it might seem. There are countries where the first sex of young people occurs much later than adulthood. It turns out that in adulthood, a guy and a girl legally entered a long time ago, but in practice they have not yet learned what sex is. Where can this be found?  

Here, for clarity, the term “coming of age” must be said that sometimes marriage age is confused with the right to vote in elections. The age of marriage may be lower than the age at which a young person has the right to lower the ballot in the ballot box in the election. In addition, in special cases (pregnancy, having a premarital child, mutual consent of parents to an early marriage), the law permits a reduction in the age of marriage. Thus, with sex everything will be like in adults, but with thinking – like in children. But with the caveat that they supposedly have already entered adulthood.   

Sex is already like in adults, and thinking is still childish

For example, in Tunisia, young people receive the right to vote in elections at the age of 21. But he begins to engage in sex much earlier than this age, and by the age of 21 young people can become parents with many children.

In the overwhelming majority of countries today there is a situation when young people in their minor age have sex with might and main. This is facilitated by fairly reliable modern contraceptives. But the problem of early sex has led to the fact that sexually transmitted diseases have spread rapidly throughout the world. Records on them inspire fear.

So, in a small state of Swaziland (southern Africa), with a population of just over one million people, over 20% of people are HIV-infected. And the reason is that prostitution is the only stable source of income for women . No one is surprised that young girls offer their intimate services for scanty money. They can only somehow influence the situation by their 18th birthday, having received the right to vote. But by this time, many will become HIV-infected with deadly AIDS. 

The UN recently compiled an interesting list of countries where there is a significant gap between the age of onset of sexual activity and the age that gives the right to full legal capacity. The list looks like this.

Reliable contraceptives promote early sexual intercourse

With 18 years of age comes of age in Turkey, Uganda, Vietnam, Egypt, Iraq, Nigeria, Nepal and several other states.

At first glance, it’s normal. But the age of onset of sexual activity has long moved to 15 years. If a guy or man has sex with a 15-year-old girl without her written consent, she has the right to file a rape statement. Note especially: consent must not be in words, but in writing. And not typed on a computer and displayed on a printer, but handwritten.  

In Iceland, Denmark, Poland, Romania, France, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Thailand, sex with a 15-year-old girl will also be recognized by the legal authorities as non-punishable, but again , if there is mutual consent and a written “Yes” from the girl. 

We went even further in Japan. This country has very strict laws regarding sex. Prostitution is completely prohibited. In erotic videos, the genitals are thickly smeared with black paint. But they begin to teach children the elements of sex in primary school. A sexual act of a girl at the age of 13 qualifies as her personal right to have sexual relations with whom she wants. With the written consent of the girl to have sex, the issue of seduction or rape is not even considered. 

In Angola, Mexico, and the Philippines, sex with a 12-year-old girl is considered the norm. And Yemen holds the record for the earliest intimate relationships. In this country, sexual intercourse is allowed for a girl from 9 years old. But only on condition that she is married to a man who is able to feed her and the child if he is conceived. It is clear that there is no question of the girl’s legal capacity at this age. In fact, she becomes a minor sex slave without the right to vote.

Of course, there is something to argue about. It is no accident that the Russian State Duma also drew attention to this topic with the goal of “obliging” parents to feed their children until they themselves get a job. The situation is similar in other countries.
